jamesw
I've just bought a calypso 16 and am hoping someone can advise me how to connect the side stays. There is a large curved shackle on the mast 3/4 up for the forestay and jib, but no other connections for stays that I can see. If the side stays connected there, they'd hang back from the mast, perhaps hanging against it as they angled back to the deck - that doesn't seem right... Leon
Side stays connect to the hounds at top of mast on a shackle. And go down to chain plates on the gunnels/Saddle. The forstay come from the same place at the top of the mast and get tied onto a bridle. At the bows. Some jibs are the forestay and have a furler on them. Contact Calypso at Sandgate. And a sailing club.
