tonyquoll
Hi, Am enrolling in Powerboat Handling Certificate and Dinghy Instructor courses, run by Yachting NSW. http://nsw.yachting.org.au/default.asp?Page=58726&MenuID=Training/1054/58381/ The Powerboat course costs $310, which includes an inflatable PFD, and is a prerequisite for enrolling the Dinghy Instructor course. July 10-11. The Dinghy Instructor Course is $250, July 12-14. Both courses will be held at the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron, 33 Peel St, Kirribilly. That's the point just east of the Sydney Harbour bridge, opposite the Opera House. Can anyone suggest a cheap place to stay? So far, it looks like the cost of the course fees ($560), getting there (1060km return = $110 fuel), paying for accomodation ($90 x 5nights=$450), and maybe putting the dog in a kennel ($20 x 5 =$100), totals $1220. Damn, wouldn't I be better off spending that money on a new sail?! Maybe I'll just surprise them with my dome tent in their rigging area.
tonyquoll
Looking at the RSYS website, http://www.rsys.com.au/index.php maybe I could just bunk down on one of the yachts they have moored there! Geez, how the other half live.
