It was said with competitive affection! The later debacle in that clip proves that humans struggle to maintain harmony even when well off (which let's face it, we are, if we have time and money to sail anything). All that litigation and politicking. How much harder to get on when bombs are falling, or there's no food or water, or when your kids disappear in the night, or your baby dies in labour and there's no help and you end up leaking for years (ref 4 Corners tonight).
