ozwalker
I have recently got a 5 metre Hydra that I haven't sailed yet and am hoping that someone with experience on a bigger cat might have some time midweek to come and have a sail with me. I'm off work at present but my weekends are generally busy so any time during the week is good. I am not a complete novice, but the Hydra seems like a slightly more full on cat that what I've sailed. Not sure if my email shows on my profile - it's ozwalker@hotmail.com if you want to drop a line. Or ring on 62966402. Cheers, Paul
Paul124ac
The hydra would have to be one of the easier racing cats to sail. I've never sailed anything cat or otherwise that you can just let go of the tiller and they still track dead straight, even with a hull in the air. I just sold one of mine to a complete newbie, he loves the thing. Yeah they'll bite like any cat but I reckon they're a great learning boat, have a crack. tonyquoll
Mate, would love to come for a sail, but am a few hours away on the coast at Wallagoot. Bring the Hydra down here for a few days, and enjoy a nice lake with steadier winds! Sailing Canberra makes it challenging, whatever boat you're on.
