Brisso57
I used to own a Calypso 14A, which had a traveller track that extended virtually the whole width of the cross-spar.I'm wondering why the 16's track doesn't extend so far.Has anyone thought to modify to extend the track? Surely the performance could be improved?Doug
Robbieandrew
Unless yours is different to mine, you'd probably only get about 15cm more on each side of the traveler (mine extends just past the tramp). I'm not sure if it would be worth the bother...
Limousine
all that does is chafe the main on the spreaders more if you try to run square - better to gybe downwind as per most cats - we have also tried extending the jib car track inboard to reduce jib lead angle but the symmetrical, boardless hulls are not up to it - these boats only respond to being sailed 'low in the groove' and fast. ie - pinching is not an option. cheers
