Johncatsandbikes Posted January 28, 2014 Report Share Posted January 28, 2014 Some weeks ago I bought an old mari, repaired a fractured hull, added new sails and rigging, new dolphin striker and tramps and tested in 20 to 25 knots last Saturday and broke a rudder (the next area that needed work). hilaryas Posted August 4, 2014 Report Share Posted August 4, 2014 Hi. I realise this thread is quite old right now, but I am in similar situation. I've recently picked up a Spiral 3.8 dinghy hull. According to its one design class rules it uses a cast alloy maricat rudder head. I'm just trying to figure out what my options are for buying one from places other than the spiral association and what cost to expect. I'd certainly be happy with a second hand if there was one about? Can anyone advise as to where I can get one? I can buy one through the spiral association, but may pay a markup - I don't know what reasonable prices are. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give.
