YACHTING WESTERN VICTORIA





1. RULES

The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing, 2013– 2016 the
YA Special Regulations Part 2 for Off The Beach Boats, and the Class Rules for each boat entered (except as any of these are altered by the sailing instructions).

YA Special Regulations Part 2, Regulation R1 “Personal Buoyancy” shall apply for the duration of the regatta.

All competitors and officials shall, when afloat, wear personal buoyancy in accordance with the current marine Safety Victoria Regulations pertaining to enclosed inland waters.


2. ADVERTISING

Advertising will be restricted to Category A in accordance with ISAF Regulation 20.


3. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY

The regatta is open to all off-the-beach boats, trailable yachts and trailable keelboats.

Eligible boats may enter by completing the attached Entry Form which shall be lodged with the Race Committee at the Clubhouse at the Lake Bolac Northern Shore after 9.00am, Friday 29th March, 2013 accompanied by the required fee (see Item 4 below).


4. FEES

Seniors (18 years & over)
: Full Weekend ……. $60.00
: Per Race ………….. $10.00

Juniors (under 18 years)
: Full Weekend ……. $25.00
: Per Race ………….. $5.00

SENIORS

FRIDAY, 18th April, 2014
Information session in the Clubhouse 1:00 pm.
RACE 1 – Class/Division Scratch/Handicap 2:00 pm


SATURDAY, 19 April, 2014
Information session in the Clubhouse 9:30am.
RACE 2 – Class/Division Scratch/Handicap 10:30 am.
RACE 3 – Class/Division Scratch/Handicap 2:00 pm.
Regatta Dinner (details and price T.B.A.) 6:30 pm.

SUNDAY, 20th April, 2014
Information session in the Clubhouse 9:30 am.
RACE 4 – Class/Division Scratch/Handicap 10:30 am.
RACE 5 – Class/Division Scratch/Handicap 2:00pm
Yachting Western Victoria – Annual General Meeting 8:00pm



MONDAY, 21st April, 2014
Information session in the Clubhouse 10:30 am.
RACE 6 – John Lane Memorial Stern-chaser 11:30 am.
Presentation of Trophies - As soon as practical as practical after race 6




A separate Schedule of Events will be available for Juniors on each day.



6. MEASUREMENT

Each boat may be asked to produce a valid measurement or rating certificate.


7. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

The sailing instructions will be available after 9.00 am., Friday 18th April, 2014 at the Clubhouse, Lake Bolac on the Northern Shore..


8. VENUE

The regatta will be held on Lake Bolac. Regatta headquarters will be the former Lake Bolac Aquatic Clubhouse and environs on the Northern shore of Lake Bolac, Victoria.



9. COURSES

Courses will be as displayed on the Regatta Notice Board at the briefing each day.


10. PENALTY SYSTEM

For catamaran classes, Rules 44.1 and 44.2 are changed so that only one turn, including one tack and one gybe, is required.


11. SCORING

The Low Point Scoring System, Appendix A4.1 will apply for Scratch results for Seniors in each Class or Division.

The Yachting Victoria Yardstick in as described in Yachting Australia Addendum C using the winning boat as the race standard apply for Handicap results for Seniors in each Class or Division.

Scoring for Juniors will be advised separately at their information session’


12. RADIO COMMUNICATIONS

A boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones.


13. PRIZES

Trophies will be presented to Scratch and Handicap winners. A full list of trophies will be available at the Clubhouse.


14. CAMPING

Camping is available on the foreshore. A separate discounted fee will be collected by the Ranger (for holders of Silver/Gold Cards)

Caravan sites and camping is also available at the nearby Lake Bolac Caravan Park. Other hotel and motel accommodation in Lake Bolac at the Lake Bolac Motel, and the Lake Bolac Hotel.


15. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY

Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See Rule 4, “Decision to Race”. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with, or prior to, during or after the regatta.


16. INSURANCE

Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third - party liability insurance with a minimum cover of not less than A$5 million (recommended A$10 million) for the event. Evidence of insurance shall be shown at registration.
