We are pleased to announce that after lengthy negotiation with Mannering Park Sailing Club the  NSW/ACT Maricat Assoc has been able to arrange our state titles to be held in conjunction with MPASC 14 foot cat regatta held on the October long weekend 2016.  A notice of Race will be posted here, on Facebook and on the Assoc website in the next week.

I'll put up our Maricat State Titles NOR as well.  (which will be hosted by MPASC on the same weekend as the 14ft regatta)

The Mannering Park Amateur Sailing Club 14ft Catamaran Regatta 2016 will be conducted on the waters of Southern Lake Macquarie over the Weekend, 8th – 9th October 2016. Owners and charterers of eligible boats are invited to enter the regatta on the conditions of this Notice of Race. The races are organised and conducted by the Mannering Park Amateur Sailing Club.
NOTICE OF RACE NOTICE OF RACE NOTICE OF RACE
1. RULES
1.1. The regatta shall be governed by the following;
1.1.1. 2013/2016 Racing Rules of Sailing,
1.1.2. The Prescriptions and Special regulations of Yachting Australia,
1.1.3. The rules of relevant Class Associations (for competing classes) except as amended by the Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions.
1.1.4. If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence.
2. ADVERTISING
2.1. This event is conducted under ISAF Regulation 20, Category C, however the Sailing Committee reserves the right to caution or disqualify any Boat that is in breach of this

code and openly displays signage inappropriate or disrespectful toward the events primary Sponsor/s and/or Organising/Conducting Authority.
2.2. Any boat entering, displaying signage NOT relevant to the event must include a fee of $50 to be made out to the Organising Authority. A declaration of signage is required to be submitted with the application for race entry.
2.3. The Organising Authority reserves the right to waive the $50 signage declaration fee.
3. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
3.1. Eligible boats may enter on line or by completing the attached form and sending it, together with the required fee to: The Secretary, Mannering Park Amateur Sailing Club, PO Box 7196, Mannering Park, 2259.
3.2. Entry may be made in person on Saturday 8th October and 9th October 2016 at the registration desk, Mannering Park Amateur Sailing Club until 1000.
3.3. Entries will be taken for all 14ft Catamarans up to and including 15ft
3.4. Entry Fees are;
3.4.1. Seniors – Entrants over 18 years of age at 30 September 2016
3.4.1.1. One handed boat - $50
3.4.1.2. Two handed boat - $60
3.4.2. Juniors – Entrants under 18 years of age at 30 September 2016
3.4.2.1. Juniors single handed -$30
3.4.2.2. Juniors double handed - $40
3.6 The Race Committee reserves the right to refuse any entry.
4. SCHEDULE
4.1. Saturday 7th October 2016 Registration 0900 – 1000.
4.1.1. Competitor Meeting – Approximately 1030.
4.1.2. Race 1 Warning Signal not before 1100.
4.1.3. Subsequent race Warning Signals will be made as soon as possible after the completion of previous race/s or expiry of the previous race/s time limit.
4.1.4. No Warning Signal will be made after 1630.
4.1.5. Sunday 9th October 2016.
4.1.6. Warning Signal not before 1000.

4.1.7. Subsequent race Warning Signals will be made as soon as possible after the completion of previous race/s or expiry of the previous race/s time limit.
4.1.8. No Warning Signal will be made after 1430.
4.1.9. Presentation of prizes will take place as soon as possible of the last race.
5. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
5.1. Sailing instructions will be available on the Mannering Park website or at the Mannering Park Amateur Sailing Club registration desk on Saturday 8th October 2016.
6. COURSES
6.1. Races will be conducted on the southern end of Lake Macquarie in the vicinity of Mannering Park.
6.2. Courses will be as per Sailing Instructions.
7. PENALTY SYSTEM
7.1. Rules 44.1 and 44.2 are changed so that only one complete turn, including one tack and one gybe, is required.
8. SCORING
8.1. Koonawarra Yardsticks with adjustments according to the following table will be used for this regatta, where there is no Koonawarra Yardstick VYC Yardstick will be used.

8.2. Yardstick alteration disputes to be referred to Race Committee.
8.3. The low point scoring system of Appendix A of RRS will apply.

8.4. A minimum of 3 races is required to be completed to constitute a series.
8.4.1. When fewer than 5 races have been completed, a boats series score will be the total of her race scores.
8.4.2. When 5 or more races have been completed, a boats series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.
8.4.3. Maximum number of races 7.
9. PRIZES
9.1. Prizes will be given to the first three boats on the Modified Koonawarra Handicap System.
9.2. Prizes will be given to the first three boats on handicap calculated during the regatta.
9.3. Additional prizes may be given at the discretion of the Organizing Authority.
10. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
10.1. All those taking part in the Mannering Park Amateur Sailing Club 14ft Catamaran Regatta do so at their own risk and responsibility. The Organising Authority, the Mannering Park Amateur Sailing Club and any other organisation connected with the event, their officials, employees, agents and any sponsors, disclaim any and every responsibility for any loss, damage, injury or inconvenience that may occur to persons or things, both ashore and on the water, as a consequence of their participation in any way in the race.
11. INSURANCE
11.1. Each participating boat shall have third party insurance cover of not less than $5,000,000 ($10,000,000 recommended) for any accident during the regatta. All owners/charterers/competitors who sign the entry form are deemed to have made a declaration that they hold such cover.

Separate start for 5m Maris, only eligible for Mari Association prizes. Common start for all 14s.                                                                                                                                

This will be put to the regatta committee and may be amended.
