Wildcat Regatta October 3-4-5 2009

NOTICE OF RACE

1 RULES

1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.

2 ADVERTISING Advertising will be unrestricted.

3 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY The regatta is open to all catamaran sailing boats

5 FEES Required fees are as follows: 1 person boat 50

2 person boat $60

7 SCHEDULE Registration:

From Saturday 3rd October- from 8.30am

Registration at any time from then. There is no pro-rata registration

7.1 Dates of racing:

Saturday 3rd from 1300

Sunday 4th from 1000

Monday 5th from 1000

7.2 Number of races: Three races will constitute a series. The number of races on each day will be determined by the racing committee.

7.3 The scheduled time of the warning signal for first race of each day is 1 hr prior to the first race.

8 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

The sailing instructions will be available

after 8.15 am on Saturday 3rd October and available from the registration area.

9 VENUE

Great Lakes Sailing Club, 12km South Lakes Way Forster, Sailing will be on Wallis Lake.

9.1 Attachment 1 shows the location of the racing areas.

10 THE COURSES

The courses to be sailed will be as follows:

The diagrams in Attachment A show the courses.

11 PENALTY SYSTEM

11.1 The Scoring Penalty, rule 44.3, will apply. The penalty will be the last place of the fleet.

11.2 Decisions of the protest committee will be final as provided in rule 70.5.

12 SCORING

Low point scoring system

13 SUPPORT BOATS

Support boats shall be marked with a streamer or other obvious marking.

14 PRIZES

Prizes will be given as follows: 1st, 2nd, 3rd place of each fleet.

Other miscellaneous prizes will be awarded.

15 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY

Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.

16 INSURANCE

Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of $10 million per event

or the equivalent.

Been talking to a few friends about this regatta and telling them how good it is so they are now trying to find boats so they can join in the fun.

You know there is always plenty to do on shore. Beers require chilling, Cd stacker re-loading and sunscreen reapplied. Some days it's a pity when the wind kicks and you have to put the beer aside.

On that topic, fridge is full.
