Emmessee
I love the graphics on 522. I had the blue striped sail and the same pin striping on the huls of 628. [This message has been edited by Emmessee (edited 16 September 2005).]
cj
Just a quick question graceland are 1216 and 1213 new hulls or did you guys gelcoat over the lines that this generations of boats came out with? I have 1220 and have the pin stripe and a friend had 1209 which had the same.
REV YUKKA II
hi emmessee. when i got 628 she only had one red stripe down the hull. we have 616 that sales up with us and it looks the same as 522.
GRACELAND1216
Hi guys, some of you may have noticed the pictures i posted disappear from time to time.I'm having troubles with the the website where i'm hosting the photos, hopefully the problems will be solve soon or i'll find another host website. Thanks HooD for posting some excellent shots of some 5.8's in action. To CJ,1216 never had stripes on it when i brought it in 1995,back then it was called ABSOLUTE BOAR and had won state and national titles in 1992 and 1993.1213 did have a stripe on it,the boat came from Sydney and was called SNATCH and now it has been sold to some eagar sailors from Mannering Park. The picture below is for Emmessee who can't get enough of the old blue stripes on the old 5.8's.Enjoy.Regards GRACELAND. Emmessee
Love the old sails. They were all like that at one time.
GRACELAND1216
Striped sails and hulls are becoming pretty scarce, as you say Emmessee most 5.8's and 5.2's were all like this in the 1980's. I think 1216 would be one of the last 5.8's with a striped sail, i haven't seen any other boats around with a higher sail number with stripes. Emmessee
Tis a shame as it really made the Nacra's stand out from the other boats on the water, and the old stripes were just sensational. If I ever got a Nacra again I would request a retro colour plan.
HooD
Only thing is we broke the mast and ripped the sail to bits.
Emmessee
And 633 was my second boat. It was called Sheer Indulgence. After that I had 1205 I think.
GRACELAND1216
Hey Emmessee,Here is another one for you with plenty of stripes. If you have any old photos email them to me and I'll host them for you on the Port Hunter website so you can post them here. Regards Graceland. Emmessee
She was a ripper. I will have a look. I do have a shot of 628 somewhere totally airborn and warp speed and another shot from the mast looking down.

GRACELAND1216
Hey HooD, The Nacra 5.8 sits very high in the water with nobody on the boat and bloody hard to get back on them after a stack. It's been a couple of years since I have had to do it. How is the water temperature down in Tassie at the moment? Regards Graceland.
HooD
Water is some where between 12-14 degrees, not bad for spring in the southern ocean! http://lyc.catsailor.org/photos/open05/default.htm from the photos its hard to believe we had 20+ knots!!
