The downhaul is the dual cleat system like most people use however I run the ends through a pully at the sidestay and down through the trapeze shockcord eyelet and around another pully underdeck. This underdeck pully is on a piece of shockcord to keep tension on the ends of the downhaul, which means I only really have 1 line each side of the mast that then disappears under the trampoline.

Its less clutter and less things I can get caught on when moving around. Also the line is ALWAYS in the same spot, which is something that used to annoy me when I just tied the ends around the stay or back on each other. The line was always slack and would creep down the deck just when I needed to adjust it. No such problem with my current system.
