The Kingston Farm Supplies Drain to Drain Classic is on again on the 23rd March 2013 with new sponsorship this season. This event is a long distance race around buoys between the "Butchers Gap" Drain south of Kingston and the "Blackford Drain" north of Kingston. The full race includes 3 laps and about 75 kilometres. The race is designed so any number of laps ( 25 kilometres per lap ) can be completed and there are prizes for each lap. The Club will have lunches and a tea on the Saturday night.

Kingston is 3 hours south of Adelaide in South Australia. The next town south of Kingston is Robe and the biggest town close by is Mount Gambier. Kingston is on the coast at the southern end of the Coorong and sits in a sheltered bay that is protected by a reef several kilometres out to sea. The Conditions are usually small chop and a south westerly sea breeze between 10 and 25 knots. Will post more details on the event when the Club puts out a notice of race.

Race format is the same as past years, but the Committee has decided that if a competitor has won a place for the three laps they aren't able to also win the one or two lap prizes. Competitors that don't place in the three laps will be able to win in the one or two lap events but only once. This will hopefully mean that each lap will have several boats plying for positions and not just win by the fact that they are the only boat in that particular lap. The Club also hopes this will share the new Sponsorship of prizes around more of the competitors and reward those sailing the one or two lap races as well.
