t.shields
Hi, I'm new to this forum and have recently been bitten (again) by the sailing bug. I took sailing lessons years ago on Hobie 16s but never really sailed much since. I've recently been looking at a 14' cat for sale that no can seem to identify. I am interested in buying this one to get back into sailing. It's selling for $950 with the trailer. Can anyone here help me please? Thanks! darcy1945
Don't buy that boat, the trlr and beach wheels are worth $5/600, but the rigging is wrong and you can't get parts for it. If you want a small cat, wait for a Maricat or Windrush (Parts and advice readily available)

tonyquoll
Agree with Darcy. This one looks better: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Catamaran-Maricat-4m-fibreglass-on-registered-boat-trailer-/170936700891?pt=AU_Boats&hash=item27cc9f0fdb Don't know where you are, but the palm trees match so maybe it's near you! Came across a "Mackenzie 15" that had similar styling to above pics, it's possible the above is also a Mackenzie. They were designed and made in USA early 1970's. By the way, the mast should rake backwards, not forwards. Maybe swap the stay wires around. In hindsight, I was thinking of a MacGregor 15, which lacks the bow chines pictured above: http://sailboatdata.com/viewrecord.asp?class_id=5899

I will keep looking. Thanks!
t.shields
Now what was it I was saying over at SA? Yup. Just had to get the word out since the impulsive buyer in me was really starting to win already. Thanks to the internet and all the helpful people in these forums. I appreciate any leads on good deals.
knobblyoldjimbo
but that's a 4, not a 4.3, big difference in the way they go. 14ft (4.3) is the minimum - I think.
