epoch
Looking for somewhere to set up the cat and leave it near the water for a camping holiday between Lake Macquarie and Coffs Harbour. Anyone have some good tips as to where to go for such a trip?
darcy1945
Why go past Lake Macquarie ? Monterey van park, Mannering Park, camping and leave your boat rigged on the beach.
korwich
Manno is about the best place I have found also, stayed at Tuncurry for a Xmas, at the caravan park around the back of Tuncurry, wasn't too bad to go for a blast at high tide, bit tricky to get into the inlet of water where they were though, and could not access the main water bodies (power lines, sand bars, strong tidal current, add these together and it turns out shit) Trial Bay (South West Rocks) Arrakoon camping out at the gaol is pretty good also. No power lines, or strong tidal currents to ruin your day.
epoch
At Trial Bay can you leave the boat rigged up on the beach overnight? What about Forster at the sailing club? Is there camping there? Is Mannering Park the only spot on lake macquarie? THanks for the tips
