kurt
After a year off sailing I'm looking to come back on a 5m catamaran either a nacra or maricat or something similar. Any suggestions of what's out there like that would be appreciated.
CTMD
How much are you looking to spend? Sailing one up or two? Will you be racing.
kurt
I'm looking to not spend much more than 5k. Probably about 70% single handed not do worried bout a boat that does states and nationals. most of my sailing will be Club racing for the fun of it as most of my serious racing is on big boats. And before some suggests it cause I know some one will I've out grown 14footer in my year off
HooD
Taipan 4.9 would be a nice boat, there is on on ebay in your price bracket http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Taipan-4-9-High-Performance-Catamaran-/221351278643?pt=AU_Boats&hash=item3389907833&_uhb=
kurt
Yeh I'm watching that one I think it used to race at the club I sail at cause the Mabee is very familiar but that would have been a fair while ago.

kurt
The a would be a very different boat. I'm still sorting mine out but I'm happy with it. It all depends what you want to do, single or double handed, go fast or have a chance on handy cap. Ect.
Paulo
Yes, different for sure. I want to sail single, go fast and at least be competitive and enjoy the sport. Also, it needs to be much lighter and easier to handle than my Hobie 18!Paul
