brocky 0
Hi allI am new to this site and thought you might be interested in my rebuild of a paper tiger I purchased recently for $50. I have restored about 22 power boats over the past 10 years as a hobby and have a passion for it. In my younger years I used to love sailing cats down on the swan river in Perth WA . I now have young kids of my own and would love for them to enjoy this also so decided to buy this cat as my next project and get my oldest son to help me in this restoration project I know very little about paper tigers hence posting on this site the one I purchased is plywood in constuction and in very average condition any advise or knowlege would be invaluable to me during this project I will post photos as we progress. Starting with some photos of when we first brought it home
Pirate 15
You've certainly got your work cut out for you with this old girl, having been there and still going through the learning curve I can honestly say is an enjoyable experience although at times scary. Being in the steel industry, my only wood working tools consisted of 3 pro chainsaws and a 75ton wood splitter. I now have chisels, fret-saws, bandsaws, planes.... even timber G-clamps and slowly learning to use them all correctly. looking forward to see the outcome with your tiger
knobblyoldjimbo 32
See if you can see other Tigers. Nowadays they tend to trailer them using the beams as the support - just my tuppence worth.
