mari righting ropes

On ZAX I use 2 of the bungee cord from a windsurfer. I run it from the inside corner of the font beam (attached to dolphin striker tang) then into the centre of the tramp underneath fixed to the rope from the hiking straps. I like this because it is easy to get to and a good length.

many other ways including just tying a length of rope to the centre of the dolphin striker and then keep it tied back on top of hte tramp. Problem with this is that it can be hard to get to if you turn completely upsidedown.

I also use the bungied rope idea. Mine is just one piece of rope attached to each end of the dolphin striker tangs. I took out the core from an old mainsheet and threaded a piece of shock cord through the outside casing.

It is light, works fine and is always close handy in the case of a capsize.

Ok so what if I have only used the righting rope once. Have capsized 3 times this century, and on two of those occasions it was blowing so hard that holding on to the dolphin striker wire was enough to right the boat.

Nothing wrong with only sailing on nice days!
