Prince Planet Posted April 19, 2011 Report Share Posted April 19, 2011 Hi Tony, OK - I appreciate the feedback... the reason for the frame is that if there's a dark colour on the hull, it won't 'read' properly... so the white inside the frame means it will read out of any coloured hull... Sure, I can produce the straight black lettering without the frame - but it may not read out of dark-coloured hulls... not sure if Windrush does any dark hulls anymore - but it needs to be taken into consideration... Second thing is, I can't force Brett to add a '14' to the end of the current cursive lettering - that would entail a new logo being produced. Of course, because of the very small numbers of new boats being produced, he (I assume) wouldn't be interested... so it's really up to us to do something... And, can I be blunt about the current 'Windrush Yachts' lettering? It looks like cheap clip-art... as a professional graphic designer it certainly can be made 'stronger' - which is what I've tried to achieve with the heavier, modern font treatment... Kurnell? Well, I didn't go either - as I didn't wanna be the only 14 there... but in hindsight I probably should have... it turned out to be a nice sailing day after all... could have used it to practice the trapezing - which I definitely need to do... Is he really a Windrush 14 sailor at heart - or wanting to convert? Tony, the thing is, I can't make Windrush Yachts do anything... or to add a '14' to their MUCH stronger logo - the first one you posted - that goes on the decks of the boat around the front crossbar area.. but the 'Windrush Yachts' lettering goes at the back of the hulls... so that's where he new logo would be placed...
