gim
Hi, I am interested in buying an Arafura Cadet, preferably an older one at a lower price. Does anyone know of one for sale? Or can you direct me to a place where they may be likely to come up for sale? I am in NSW, so SA is a bit far away, but I can do Vic or lower Qld. Thanks. korwich
The only one I know of was the one that Rodneys (Pointed Reply) young bloke Zac was sailing. It was owned I believe by Wagga Wagga sailing club. You could PM him for details. good Luck Phil
Pointed Reply
Kimba is definitely NOT for sale, a club heirloom... MadAboutCats (Jeff Southall) from SA is the oracle about Arafuras. Also Gary Powell or Frank O'Rourke from the NSW Association There was a very poor condition one on ebay a few months ago. Thanks to everyone who offered advice. I wouldn't have found it otherwise...
gim
Here's me on the Cadet yesterday at the Clarence River Sailing Club. Of course I'm too big for it, but it's fun, and good experience.

gim
Thanks for the photo and sail number info. Kimba is a beautiful boat, I love the varnished timber. Is 88 its original sail number?
Pointed Reply
The original sail is in the photo..695 88 is a newer sail which we got from MadAboutCats from SA, when he upgraded their Arafura sails.

gim
In the absence of any other Cadet photos, here's another one of me, practicing for when I sail my big boat. C'mon you Cadet sailors, how about some photos? I reckon sailing an Arafura Cadet is about as much fun as you can have sitting up, and I can't understand why they aren't sailed more. Pointed Reply
The Arrow and Arafura site has some plus quite a few on the (I think) Victor harbour sailing club website.
