It really depends on your mast rake. If it is in front of the back beam it will tend to dip the nose on reaches. I used to run mine about 50mm in front of the beam and manage my weight to compensate. If the race was looking to have a lot of reaches and 15+ knots of breeze I would move it back to about 50mm behind the beam. Uphill/down hill races you can usually manage it in any breezes upto 20knots. Of course this is for an 85kg Skipper, lighter skippers will need to go back a little earlier although I have a friend who sails with it about 200mm in front of the beam and is only 78KG
